A practice caricature of Conan O'Brien I did for the next Illustration project.

Somehow that's less of a caricature than Conan O'Brien actually is.

In my head, Jerry's Adventures is changing more drastically than I had predicted. I ended up doing a lot of plot and character brainstorming at work, and made some progress. Here's a preview of some brainstorming doodles I did. Any of this is still very subject to change. The top row are the new warrior concepts. The weapons have been switched up, and I'm thinking of scrapping the armor entirely, as seen here. The armor really posed a problem with making Jerry and Jim look too alike. I've also finalized a different way to draw Jim's hair to help differentiate him from Jerry a little better, and this change will remain constant in and out of the comic. The bottom left is Pamela's character, which will uphold much the same role in the original comic. The other three on the bottom are brainstorms for Andrew's character, a newcomer to the series. The two in the top left are very undeveloped concepts for Delia's and Peter's characters, respectively. With Rita's character gone, it removed Delia's role in the story as well, so I'm working on forging a new place for her. Peter is a newcomer, and another character that's still being thought out. The two characters in the top right are ideas for Anta's character. They're both very different and interesting characters, so I haven't quite decided where to place him yet. The larger, scruffy figure in the bottom left is the idea for Brian's character. I already have a pretty good idea of where he'll fall in the story. The drawings in the bottom right are attempts at giving Adrian's character a new look. I don't particularly like these, though, but maybe I'll come up with something later.

I like where this is going. Hopefully one day you can also get back to the adventure's of Samuel. As for the characters being more like their real life counterparts, you're doing a good job of capturing that I think.
Oh and FUCK YEAH!

Heheh, I 'm the Warden from Super Jail.
As a tip for developing personalities, sometimes it's fun and helpful to imagine how a character would stand in front of you if that character actually existed. For example, a person with a loose stance, weight on one leg, smug look on their face, with their hands hidden (or one hand touching their face) would be indicative of a laid back, yet devious character. While a person standing straight with both feet forward, stern look, and clutching his hand near his chest may be more indicative of a serious, impatient or self-motivated character.

Hahah, it's funny, because I was thinking of the Warden when I drew that. The personality/stance tip is a good reminder. I'm trying to improve on the character in my characters, since the last attempt at this comic was lacking in that respect. It's nice to see interest in this project from you guys. Very encouraging.

Did some more brainstorming at work today, and came up with some more finalized characters. The top one is my redesign for Adrian's character, bottom left is Brian's, and bottom right is Peter's.

I look like some lazy slacker. I mean, I know that's what I AM in real life, but I always dress all cool-like, to deceive, and I think that's more interesting if you apply it to my character. Just sayin'.

These characters aren't really supposed to emulate who you are in real life. They're merely inspired by some aspect of you. The rest is all creative liberties.
That being said, I wasn't really going for "slacker." Regardless, I suppose that doesn't really matter in the end. Appearances can be deceiving.

More character designs for the New Jerry's Adventures. The characters are pretty much all designed at this point. Top left is Anta's character, front and back. Before anyone points it out, I know the exhaust switches sides. It was too late to cleanly change it when I noticed. Its true location is on the left side. Next one over is John's character with Pamela's. On the top right is a closeup of Pamela's character. Bottom left is Andrew's character. The last two are Delia's character, front and 3/4 with a few design variations I'm still thinking about.

So, you're scrapping Warden design, or is my character some kind of multiple personality disorder wierdo.

Oddly enough, both are valid.

Both are valid, as in, you're going to use both designs?

No, both of the points that you stated. In otherwords:
1) I'm scrapping the warden design and
2) Multiple personalities are under consideration.

You're scrapping the warden design eh? Mind if I ask why?

I haven't been able to find a niche for the design that felt appropriate. That and, well, it's the warden from Superjail.
