Woot. It's gonna be my first time going, so hopefully it will be awesome. I'm really looking forward to it, so I decided to make a thread about it, where we can post stuff, like if we will cosplay, where you will room, or whatever dude, just as long as its AX related.
I'm going to buy a digital camera to take pictures and borrow my brother's sweet-def dvd camera, with which I will take 10 discs to try and fill up. It will be a well-documented experience.
Anyway, Andrew, Paul (Andrew's friend), Val (Our friend) and I (Adrian) decided that we would get a nice little hotel together. So me and Andrew took a faithful trip to Los Angeles two Saturdays ago in search of accommodations other than the ones listed on the AX site (because I was under the impression that the rate listed on their site was PER person.) Lo' and behold the closest place we could find to the Convention Center was the Figueroa Hotel, which was apparently only 144 a night for everyone, totaling to around 450 for the whole stay, which, when split up into four people, is a pretty affordable and sweet looking deal. In reality the whole trip was a waste, because it turned out that the hotel was on the AX site anyway. At least we got to see what it looks like (the following are pics I found online):
This is the outside of the hotel. The images on the sides are apparently changed every now and then. It looks pretty ok, nothing fancy. WRONG!
Anyway, the door was hideous, it looked like someone pissed on the whole thing a piss that doesn't go away. But it was all a facade, after walking through those hideous doors you see this:
And apparently, from the online website, the STANDARD rooms, which we got, look like this:
Pretty cool huh? The hotel is literally around the corner from the Convention Center, within about a minute's walking distance. It's gonna be pretty tight. I'm hyped.
