I love guild wars and all but when one piece of linen goes for 440 gold....

lol, indeed. Welcome to the highly skewed economy of player-controlled supply and demand.

I love it when gold becomes obsolete in some games, and people just straight out trade for rares instead.

Yep, that's what happens when "1337 equipment" becomes critical to gameplay.

*sigh*
One thing that I hate about Guild Wars is the inability to save your character before closing the game.
I finally had everything I needed to buy my new kickass attire. 12 pieces of clothe, three pieces of linen, and I was only about twenty gold short. Right when I was about to sell my old attire and getmy required amount of gold, I accidently sold all of my pieces of clothe. *sigh* Who much did I get for it? Thrity-something gold. How much would I need to spend to re-buy the lost clothe? 983,178 gold.
I hate Guild Wars. Unless somebody feels pity for me and gives me some much needed clothe, I will be on nonspeaking terms with Gay Wars for a while.

guess we're going to have to fetch you some clothes then. Keep in mind, you'd better be careful that time, and while the lack of selling safety measure do lead to more of these kinds of accidents, you can't hate the game for it.
Hate da playa, dawg.

If it's Bolts of Cloth you're talking about, I have a million of those. I can spare as much as you need. As for goofing on what you sell, just put your crafting items in one of your bags, that's what I do. That way, it's separated from your inventory, where I keep my selling items and quest items (which you can't sell).

You're inventory doesn't get saved when you log off? That bites.

Of course it does, it's just that Pat accidentally sold something he shouldn't have.

Oh.. well then, what does he mean that you can't save your character?

I think what he meant was, once you make a mistake, you can't go back and reload. You're screwed.

Oh, well.. that's only natural. You're in the world of online gaming now, boy. No going back to a previous save point, oh no.

Geez, my problem problem isn't hard enough to comprehend to warrent five posts. Let's examine the sentence, shall we?
One thing that I hate about Guild Wars is the inability to save your character before closing the game.
One thing that I hate about Guild Wars is = I do not like
the inability to save your character = unable to save the personal state of my character
before closing the game. = before the manditory save at the closing of the program
I do not see why online play restricts this feature. Simply save the the personal character stats (inventory, attribute points, skill selections) in public towns... that's it. The save will be over-written when you close the program or maybe even when you leave the town.
