Good GOD... There is a Kings Crown accessory that you can buy for your character, and it costs like 1,200,000 bells...

I've planted coconuts and pears in my town, so they'll be free to share. Just give me a few days to get a few trees of each going, though.

DS Lite Outselling PSP PS2 and Xbox 360 in Japan August 25th, 2006
Game industry analysis firm, Media Create, announced today that the Nintendo DS Lite continues to be the number one selling game hardware in Japan. It is outselling the Sony PSP handheld, the PS2 and Microsofts Xbox 360.
Nintendo sold 74,495 DS Lites from August 14 to 20. The PSP sold 41,535 and the PS2 sold 26,833 units respectively. The Xbox 360 weighed in at around 1500 units sold.
The continued growth can be attributed to the systems popular game titles such as Brain Age, New Super Mario Bros.and Big Brain Academy.
No doubt the Nintendo’s recent announcement of a Pink and Black DS Lite will continue to push sales.

Remember Sean, this is Japan they're talking about, JAPAN! And you also have to consider the price difference, and wether it's imported or not is a significant factor.

I don't think price or country has much to do with it. I think that people like the PSP's ability to be versatile, in the sense that it can play lists of music and video in addition to running games.
In terms of the people's opinion in Japan.. I dunno.

In terms of the people's opinion in Japan.. I dunno. I think I know why you see a lot of PSPs and no DSs rather than a lot of DSs and no PSPs; the article states that the DS is selling the most in "Japan." I definitely think that says a little about what people think in Japan, like they like the DS more. Who knows, maybe they haven't gotten over touch screens. I don't know what's selling the best here, it could be the PSP, since you see a lot of them, but with no offical data we can't really know. As for the price, I think you're right, I remember Mr. Hughes said price was not a factor in people's decisions to buy things. Personally I don't think the DS is better than the PSP, not that many games have graphics like the PSP, and those many other games that are using 2-d graphics just don't cut it for me, if I want that kind of game I'll just pick up my old GBA. Of course the PSP can play movies, but somehow that just doesn't work, movies aren't meant to be on the go, I don't think I've ever seen andrew fully enjoy a movie out in public, it's just not something you do while you're waiting in the cafeteria for two hours while you're holding the damn thing in a positiong you can see the film, and if he sees it at home, well that's kinda pointless, you can watch the movie on your TV, no offense to Andrew, just saying how ineffecient I think it is.

I see people use the video option more for music videos than anything else. It's not to stare at a movie, mainly for the music and something interesting to look at.

That kinda surprises me. Every one of my coworkers that I've seen with a handheld was a PSP. DS... I never see anyone with.. here's the thing. psp tends to heavily bring in the American gamer. These are usually the same people who buy Xbox's and mainly play sports and shooting games and can't really be considered real games. What Attracts most serious gamers to the psp is the fact that you can play games with better graphics and in japan a speech game which can translate from English to Chinese to Japanese is a bit hit which has brought in sales along with loco roco. As for sales for every one teenager that can afford a psp you have families that can have up to four kids each with their own DS. It is that monopoly that has kept Nintendo where it is. I mean all of us grew up with that company and games and the majority have loyalty to Nintendo because they offer Good solid products (not always the most advanced) at affordable prices which Sony cannot do.

That's not a monopoly. If it was Sony and Microsoft wouldn't sell any consoles. And I do believe that shooting and sports games can be considered real games. I mean you can play them. Duh! I don't like sports and much less sports games, but the point is you can play them, and as much as I can remember, whatever you can play is a game, or an instrument. I think those things of which you speak are called games. They sure don't produce music;instruments they are not, games they are! Also I really like the claims you have brought forth but I don't like the lack of evidence. Anyways, I'm a PC guy, and that will always kick the ass of any handheld or console a company will come up with.

well the proof is usually clear as day. while sports and shooters are real games, it's the people who can play nothing like but that are the ones that are annoying. mainly I'm just stating things that I see.

I think to be safe, you guys should all remove me from your Animal Crossing friends lists. Some jackoff stole my DS along with that game so if I do happen to come into your town, it's not me.
