Definitely one of the coolest vids I've seen in a while. Stellar animation and music, and the fact that the lyrics drive the animated story.

For those who haven't seen this yet I love this thing so I looked deeper for more info on it. Firstly the animation is done by a small studio in Texas called Knights of the Light Table. More on them shortly. The music is by a Canadian band called TWRP (formerly Tupper Ware Remix Party), the song being Starlight Brigade from their album Together Through Time. I listened to most of the album and they're actually a pretty sweet band specializing in retro 80's anime/videogame style music. An interesting note about TWRP is they're a band of 4 members that always wear masks over their faces during live performances appearances so as not to reveal what they look like. The animators ran with this and the characters in the video are idealized versions of what their masks represent. That being said, there are 6 pilots in the video, not 4. One thing I didn't expect to find is that Dan Avidan (half of the Game Grumps duo on YouTube with Arin Hanson/Egoraptor, and singer in his band Ninja Sex Party as well as in Arin's band Starbomb) is featured in Starlight Brigade and sings the vocals. The main character in the video represents Dan himself. The final pilot is a cameo from Ninja Brian (Brian Wecht), who is another prominent member of Game Grumps/Ninja Sex Party/Starbomb. With all that said, it also turns out that the website for Knights of the Light Table has 3 videos posted. One of course is for Starlight Brigade, and the other two are for the bands Ninja Sex Party (Heartboner) and Starbomb (Blowing the Payload). Both of those are also great in their own respect, though I have to say that Starlight Brigade is by far the strongest work in terms of animation. Anyways that was maybe a little long winded but I tumbled down this rabbit hole and came out with a lot of information I found interesting and thought some of you might appreciate. Inaaca: That's all really insane. I didn't even realize that TWRP song and video had any connection whatsoever to Game Grumps, nor did I know that Dan was the lead singer in it (or in Starbomb for that matter!). Now I know why his voice sounded so familiar in Starlight Brigade.
Also, the Ninja Sex Bomb connection is pretty hilarious too. I was actually just watching a Ninja Sex Party video recently! Also, the ninja guy is my favorite character in the Starlight Brigade vid. XD

This is a great TMBG song that I've never heard before, and the video is pretty entertaining too! It got me thinking, if there truly was an OMNICORN, what would it be? A couple of candidates immediately came to mind... The first was the Giant Ear of Corn from All That:    The second is the BADASS, doesn't give a fuck about anything or anyone, "Corn Gone Wrong" from Corn Nuts' short-lived extreme marketing campaign:   I'm sure there are more out there, but that is what came to mind. |
