I've long lost my chess playing confidence.

Yeah, I wasn't really in the mood either.

Chess, huh? Man, I haven't played in a while. If you want to sometime, sure. I'd rather play on my cool chess set rather than over the comp though, heh.

I have a cool chess set that is disguised as two books.

I have a chess set disguised as a checkers set.

Mine's a wooden hand carved set.

You know, given the way we communicate sometimes, I wouldn't be suprised if that's what we resorted to.

Heh, happen to have two chessboards? Two? No.. Why would we need more than one?

Heh, happen to have two chessboards? Two? No.. Why would we need more than one? Because if you lose in one game, you still have a chance at winning the other, unless you're really bad at it.

Hmm, never thought of it that way, but that certainly works. I'd like to think that I was shifting between two dimensional planes.

You should get one of those multi-level Star Trek chess sets. Those kick ass.

Maybe we could make our own. That certainly would be one hell of a project.

I've long lost my chess playing confidence. You know why? Doubt, really. I used to have a very aggressive style and would win all the time. However, when I discovered this about my style, I tried to scale back for a more considerate approach. The problem was that my faster aggressive style was good because my first move was generally the best and, therefore, not needing any more consideration. Now I just over think it and by the end of my turn there's no mystery for the opponent to fear.

You know, I was going to respond with "*Harman Smith voice*'cause you're a bad player.*Harman Smith voice*", but having a semi-serious discussion seems more fun.
That actually sounds a bit like how I play, though I admit, I'm just more reckless and impatient than aggressive. Have you ever been able to just let go of doubt and play? In fact, why did you scale back in the first place?

Maturity, paranoia, pride, thinking realistically, my brother telling me I was too aggressive... who knows.
But I can win with my doubts nevertheless. In fact, you're probably the only I'd really feel threatened by when playing chess from what I know about you and your personality.
