Some body horror: I like to call this one: "Oh!... hello!" I like to call this one: "Hug!" This one is probably Silent Hill inspired or concept art, regardless, I call it "Not the face!": And this one is an interesting twist that makes me hurt just looking at it:

Some "Sci fi" action scenes. I really like these because I think they do a good job of conveying a sense of motion and progression, like shots and cuts in a movie that would lead up to the depicted events, the "iconic" shot. As an aspiring filmmaker, concept artists like these that can really convey so many elements-- a vague idea of a story, character, scenery, feel, and action-- in a single "frame" usually catch my attention. I get a Matrix-esque action feel from this one, after some kind of tense mexican standoff: This what Crysis should be like, some kind of movie where the hero gets some super suit and has to rescue some chick in a throwback to the classic medieval trope of a knight fighting a dragon: This one gives me a sense of being overwhelmed, caught in some holy war, from which there is no escape: This is pretty much like the Crysis idea, sans damsel in distress: After a high speed exhilarating chase through a rainy city night, our heroine decides to come to a screeching halt and end it for good:

I was gonna do a more "serious" sci fi thread, but there's junk that need be done and I need to do it. As a little sneak peak, this following one is from Luis Royo, one of my favorite artists. He usually draws weird futuristic visions, most notable involving human and machine "relationships." This one is from one of his more tame creations.

Cool beans dude.
The angel is funny, as I hate "thread users" in any medium. Cheap ass jerks.\
Also, I have an alternate title for "Not the face!": "I forgot to wash after super-gluing that vase together"

"A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant."- wikipedia
Considering that what you've posted haven't exclusively been of people (if "human" is essential to "person") nor have all been face forward, I thought you wouldn't mind if I posted a photograph portrait of a real life creature that reminded me a bit of the creatures you had posted.
But if you want this to remain a deviantart-only thread, I can remove it.

Yeah, I realized the word Portrait was the wrong word a long time ago. I would suggest that you please do remove it. Thanks.

Pretty neat pic, but who's the guy on the upper right hand corner? I don't recognize him.

After a high speed exhilarating chase through a rainy city night, our heroine decides to come to a screeching halt and end it for good: I hate this one. The absent-minded road and sky is atrocious. All of it is big strokes. Impressionist anime?

Don't really see the anime. Have to agree with the road and sky comments. Just like it cause of the motion it impressed on me.
