So far, there is no reason for me to get a Wii, but I do look forward to the gameplay in super smash brothers brawl.

Whoa, the new Pokemon Trainer character looks awesome. Certainly an unexpected newcomer and a very innovative addition to the mix.

Whoa, so you play as a guy who fights with poke-MANs?

Looks like it.
I guess technically though, the character is the pokemon trainer, but you actually play as the pokemon he uses. The trainer himself isn't in the action at all. Quite interesting.

Quite interesting. indeed this one seems to be one of those characters if you want to be good at your need to keep a lot of things in mind. one is Squirtle is going to be your light and fast character, Charzard your heavy with hopefully flying mechanics like pit and meta knight and Ivysuar who is in the middle. also I guess there power goes down if you don't switch them out. I'm looking forward to controlling squritle and charzard.

So will this game have online support?

I believe online support was a big discussion point when this game was way back in the planning stages. I don't think it's been officially confirmed, though.. but I'd say the probability is good.
One thing to note though is that the Wii still has yet to enable online play. It's coming, but it isn't available yet.

Any ETA as to when online capabilities will be available?

My mistake, it looks like free online play has been available via wifi, there were just no games available for it. It looks like Pokemon Battle Revolution was the first to utilize online play, and Smash Bros Brawl will have it as well.
I'll say one thing... It will really open up the challenger base for Smash Brothers. That's pretty nice.

Online play is always good. That way you can play with Sara on her Wii!

Yeah, totally, with that Wifi connection she doesn't have. Well... I guess she could get a cord to hook up... but her parents will probably come up with some nonsensical reason for her not to be able to. It would be nice, though... -_-

She says she's going to wait for her dad to see if they'll get windows XP or a the ethernet cord. So I guess her parents are allowing it to a certain extent.

she's going to wait for her dad There's your downfall right there. I don't see what having XP has anything to do with it, though.

In any case, if she has to wait for her parents to do something about it, I'm willing to bet that nothing is going to happen anytime soon.
