THE ARRIVAL
(Special thanks to Lady V for some of the photos.)
Well, as I explained recently, just a couple weeks ago I ordered the "Mother 3 Deluxe Box" from PlayAsia.com. This is big of course, because this game is the most anticipated game of my entire life. There were some complications concerning the shipping of these boxes, but thankfully, this morning, it arrived safely at my house...
It began with a mysterious knock on my front door and ring on my doorbell, coupled with a mysterious brown truck parked outside my house. I made my way downstairs...
Well now, I wonder what it could be... (As if I didn't know!)
Hmmm... let's find out! (Sooooo UGLY!)
Ah HA! A mysterious package!
So I took it inside to investigate... Could it be? Could it really be!? Yes... It had to be.
Inside this package lays the greatest marvel ever to be- Ah, SCREW THIS SUSPENSE CRAP! LET'S OPEN THIS THING ALREADY!!
Those have got to be the proudest batch of styrofome popcorns ever. I mean, seriously. Protecting Mother 3 from harm on it's way to America... That's like... That's like escorting the king of the universe across an entire galaxy!
There it is... The Mother 3 Deluxe Box! It almost camoflauges itself into the tablecloth, doesn't it?
Alrighty, let's get down to it... This deluxe box not only contains the game itself, but a special edition Mother 3 GameBoy Micro. But before we move on...
...our friends at PlayAsia.com even threw in a discount coupon, a Megaman something-or-rather, and a nice bag of wild strawberry flavored "Happy Candy". Sweet.
Let's take a look at this GameBoy Micro first...
Welcome, indeed... And it's about stinking time...
Upon opening the GameBoy Micro box I was greeted with a cloth cover for the small system which read "Welcome to Mother 3 World". (It looks neat, but apparently isn't a very good GBM cover, unfortunately) After sliding it out of it's cover, I gazed with awe the likes of which I have never gazed with before...
Gaze. With awe.
It's gorgeous, I'm telling you. The photo above hardly does it justice, but let me tell you, the thing is magnificant. In fact, it's MAGICANT MAGNIFICANT. Sorry, Earthbound reference.
Now then, let's get to the real point of this little article...
THE GAME.
I love that. Shigesato Itoi (the series creator) really knows how to utilize the beauty of simplicity. A plain white box, with the name written in the corner. So very humble, and yet this box contains the power to destroy a planet. (heck, it probably has the death sentance in twelve systems!)
The game box also contains a Franklin Badge, which protects the wearer from any form of lightning. Yeah. That's right, Thor. Why don't you try that sh*t again? Oh? Walking away? Yeah, I figured as much. Wuss.
And now... THE CARTRIDGE ITSELF.
GOOD GOD. I never thought I'd see the day. It's finally here. After 11 years of waiting, it's here. Bow down in front of your computer monitor, oh mere mortal, and worship the cartridge!!!
No really. Do it.
Well anyway, I could keep going, but I think you get the idea. Now if you'll excuse me, I need some alone time with my game.

P.S. I've got a couple more articles on the way soon, folks, including a movie review of "Godzilla vs. Hedorah" and, yes, after all these years of waiting... THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES CHAPTER II!!!
Oh yee.
