I got bored so I'm putting together some kid show intros from youtube, either ones of specific interest for me, or ones that are, well, "special". I'll constantly update this one for the time being, so this will either become either really large, or die out in 3 minutes. I have my chips on the later. So, in no particular order...
The good:
1)Speed Grapher - www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNM_WfOGAM0
If you ever watched the first episode of this, one thing is certain: it's a low budget anime. The biggest clue in's is the fact that it's intro basically is just made up of various footage from the show itself. The new opening itself is entirely made from scratch, and contains all the pretty colors that a good opening should. To Hell with it, I just like listening to "Girls on Film".
2)Men in Black -

It's been a while since I've revisted this one, I remember having pretty fond memories of the cartoon, though incidentally, I can't remember a damn thing from the show. Except the time when J neuralized K. And that was a pretty tame episode when I think about it. Regardless, looking at the intro again allows me to seem some pretty cool things that I missed, like how the segments are pretty well synced to the song. Also, it appears that this show had some pretty high production values to it. And as Googly said, the theme song is pretty cool, though I'm suprised they didn't get Will Smith to sing "Men in Black" for them.
The bad:
1)Dragon Ball Z -
www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-Hjf43k3Cs
I guess I should explain myself. By standard sensabilities, this is pretty stupid song. But that's a good thing in this case, because both the song and this particular intro pretty much captures the moments of what people who watched Dragon Ball Z wanted to see at the time. Lots of screaming, punching, and firing of energy blasts.
2)Toxic Crusaders -
www.youtube.com/watch?v=roq0lQ43dlQ
Alright, I'm lost. I vaugely remember seeing like one episode of this show, so I've got not useless backstory or context to fill here. All I can say from the intro is, god lord this video seems to ooze 80s. But from what the intro seems to hint at, this is the story of some guy who cleans gyms for a living, until his life is changed when a bunch of assholes toss him into toxic waste, that's casually lying around a back alley (open barrels mind you) for some reason. That's pretty depressing. Regardless, I thought the song was kinda catchy, so I put it here. It doesn't deserve to be lumped with the Stone Protectors. That guy has already been through so much.
The ugly:
1)Stone Protectors -
www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BwgEOQO_qk
I showed this to some of you, now the rest of you can witness this...thing. I can't quite describe the Stone Protectors, but I suppose the best fit into the "Crime/Evil fighting AWESOMEEXTREME Group" (CEFAG) genre of cartoons. You know, like the Ninja Turtles. I believe that treasure trolls were more or less at the height of their popularity, so the big wigs at the top somehow figured that combining trolls with the CEFAG genre would both be a great idea. Unfortunately, there were two obstacles in their plans:
A - They have buff treasure trolls fighting crime.
B - They were serious about this.
The end result is Stone Protectors. Their stones of power glow. No, seriously, its in the theme song. And I'll admit, it's awfully catchy. I suppose for what the intro is supposed to do, it's not all bad. And if you feel that this segment is becoming rather longwinded, you're right. But who doesn't like to make fun of treasure trolls? Well, maybe not you, but Hell, I do. In the end, the intro certainly tells us the basics: name of the character, and I suppose, what the they do. It just kinda gets lumped into this section by concept alone.
