So, a few people have had their time occupied with the Speedgamers Final Fantasy Marathon that they've been hosting. Doing a game marathon for charity seems cool, why don't we have our own game marathon just for fun? I was thinking we could do Thursday, but King of Fighters 12 may get released that day, so I might be occupied. Besides, we need to think of games to marathon anyways before we could set a date. I originally had Ico and Shadow of the Colossus in mind, but perhaps we could save that for later, when The Last Guardian comes out. I have a few ideas in mind: *Silent Hill 1-4 Metal Gear Solid Series Devil May Cry series Half-Life 1 + Expansions and Half-Life 2 + Episodes (We'd huddle around a monitor I guess) Resident Evil series (1-5 + Code Veronica if my Dreamcast will cooperate) Super Mario series Pt 1 (Super Mario Bros 1-3, World, and Lost Levels if available) Super Mario series Pt 2 (Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy) Legends of Zelda series (depends one where we try this, it'll determine the games we play. Of course, most likely candidates are the original, A Link to the Past, and Ocarina of Time) Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3 (Secrets of Mana 1 and 2, purely for the sake that it is a 3 player Action RPG) Anyways, those are a few ideas I had. We can work out the fine details if we get a general 'yay' or 'nay'. Tell me what you think.

We should do the Silent Hill one. Including five.

Sounds kick ass. I'd love to participate in all but the DMC one, but I'd happily spectate.
Another good series would be Mother, naturally.

I endorse Silent Hill and Metal Gear.

I've added some new possibilities, I'm also certainly open for suggestions. I guess Devil May Cry probably won't happen because it'll be only me playing this game.
Sounds like the one everyone would be down for is the Silent Hill one. At the very least, we have to do that one around Halloween.
But to start off, we could go two directions. The first direction would be the ol' skoo'. How about some games from the Legend of Zelda series, or the Super Mario series? Most of the games are out on Virtual Console, so having them should not be a problem. If we do this at Sean's house, it would be a matter of getting the games on Virtual Console, which I'm willing to fund. If we do this at Andrew's house, however, we could link his monitor to the TV, so we could just use roms instead. If we do this at my house, at least the screen is kinda big, though the sitting space is rather limited...
The second direction would be the rather short ass game selection. The best candidates for this section would Ico + Shadow of the Colossus. There are plenty of other possibilities as well, though I can't think of them at the moment.
Regardless though, should we start simple or short?

I got my sleeping schedule fixed! Now it's just a matter of not taking a nap in the afternoon.

I do have a working NES and SNES with the first games of Mario and Zelda. If you have a TV I can hook them up.

It looks like the series everyone wants to play is the Legends of Zelda. We can debate about which one we'll play much later. If we can borrow your old systems, Sara, that would be wonderful. We probably should bring a Wii, and maybe a laptop just incase. With a laptop, it would allow us to play Link's Awakening, which was a pretty good one in my opinon.
The tentative date is August 4th. I'd also like to start early, as the faster we get together, the more time we'll have to play (given that it takes quite a bit of time to get things together sometimes). How does that sound to you guys?

Sean has Link's Awakening and has a working Game Boy (i think).
I think Anta want us to do this on Tuesdays because that is the one day the most of us have off. So if there are any Tuesdays you guys can do this on let us know.

Also, with multiple systems, I don't see what's stopping us from playing multiple games at once.

I was actually thinking multiple games from the same marathon. For example, The Legend of Link, Link's Awakening, and Ocarina of Time could all be potentially played in the same room simultaneously. I wouldn't be much of a marathon anymore if the games were entirely unrelated.
