Cool. I'm always down with listen to things I'm not familiar with.

The last one was the best one. I really dug that one.

Some of those reminded me of this for some reason. Probably cause they're similar genres.

Just wondering... did I introduce you to Polysics or did you know about them beforehand?

I've known about the Polysics for a while but I don't remember who I first heard about them through, so maybe.

You can't be serious about that metal song not being topped.

Sorry, not everyone likes Opeth.

Wow, Patrick I swear sometimes I really doubt your intelligence. I don't see how Opeth has anything to do with my statement.

Opeth is a metal band that you like.
It is relevant precisely because it illustrates that we prefer very different things when judging metal.
I found your reply that "I can't be serious" about that song offensive. Of course I don't believe that song could never be topped. Like anyone, I haven't heard all the metal in existence to make such a serious judgement. However, it is plainly obvious that that was not the intent of my statement. In the context of in this thread, it is just another way of saying 'this is my favorite metal song.' As such, saying that I'm not serious about that song is to say that I'm not serious about what preference for music.
If you mean that the latter, then I agree, but that is not how I originally took your reply.

No, I didn't write that statement to say that I believed you were making an assumption on all metal music. It really was me asking if that was the only metal song you were going to post. I pretty much got that that was your favorite song in metal.
Seriously, metal gets one song?
So of course when you immediately jumped to the only metal interest of mine, that you knew about, I was like, WTF mate?
This is like the second time you let emotion get in the way of logic, but I should've expanded on my statement.
Also... don't lecture me on different tastes, lest you forget that I've spoken to you about my understanding that people just have different tastes and/or poor tastes, and are impossible to be enlightened. One thing, I'm sure that we can agree on is: the musical tastes of an instrumentalist or musician, are better than the average crowd.
Also, being really honest here, you listen to good music, its just the way that its recorded, with its lo fi, garage band ambience, really throws me off. So that's why I don't listen to it. Frankly, I also think avoiding finely produced music is a crutch to listening to music.
That being said. That song really sucks ass. But you can't expect to show people music and only want to hear good and positive, sensitive comments about it. There are three reasons to show other people music:
A: It is personal: You think the music is good and want to see what others think.
B: It isn't personal: You're quite simply introducing "new" music to people.
C: It is personal: But you don't even care what people's responses are.
If the first is the case, then you're showing people an aspect of yourself, but not everyone has all positive or like-able aspects.
If the second is the case, negative or positive responses should be of no consequence.
If the last is the case: Awesome. Take your own advice and ignore my response.
