Episode 1: The Investor (Part 1)
I feel that a summary of our adventures by each of our narrators should be in order. Really, I feel that their should just be a place to keep these on record. Mostly because its good to have a place to look back on these. As such, I have provided a little re-cap summary of our first episode in the yet untitled play set on the galactic stage.
This adventure was narrated and created by Adrian, and starred, in alphabetical order: (Cue Star Trek theme)
Anta Sam as
Sub-Chief Biological Officer "Mr. T": A member of the strange, and sometimes repulsive, Lotan race.
Brian Buder as
Combat Specialist Aran Vedra: Best described as a pompous, proud and loud member the equally pompous, proud and loud race known as the Akras.
Patrick Bradley as
Weapons Specialist Imran Ivarrson: A member of the "true" human race with a mysterious past. But that doesn't matter cause he's almost as huge a douchebag as Vedra.
Sara Seymour as
Combat Specialist Elhira: A highly skilled assassin and equally beautiful member of the Vestian race who has no idea what she's doing serving in the Fleet.
Sean Stewart as
Infiltration Engineer Surma Sethis: A member of the enigmatic synthetic "race" known as the Ilmater Constructs, who's hungering for adventure.
Our adventure began aboard the Intragalactic Systems Military Vessel (ISMV) Cesca, where our heroes found themselves in the awkward position of getting to know Vedra (Buder), over lunch. The voyage and mission were their first, and before they could get fully acquainted, they were ordered to report to the shuttle bay as the Cesca's Auxiliary Shore Party to await instructions. Once they were suited up and in the shuttle bay, they were approached by the Akran Captain Hera, who then proceed to inform them of the situation as follows:
Roughly two days before, Intragalactic Systems Fleet (ISF) Command received an urgent message from the Systems Commercial Vessel (SCV) Raydes, orbiting the planet Celion in the Serres System. A Vestian identifying himself as Kirrade reported that the whole planet had been consumed by a mysterious black substance and that mass evacuations had proceeded. That was the last that was heard from the now silent planet and all communications with the system had ceased.
Upon reaching Celion's orbit, a horrible sight was revealed: The entire planet was no longer recognizable as a lush garden planet, and now a black soulless sphere hung in the vastness of space. Around the planet, like a ring of death, were the the remains of what seemed like a thousand commercial vessels. Lithe bodies in the shapes of all known species drifted lifelessly amongst the debris. Outside of this morbid ring, drifted two vessels: The first was identified as the SCV Raydes, the other however, was a never before seen massive dreadnought.
The team's mission was simple: to board the Raydes and retrieve the VIP Kirrade, while the Captain's party, investigated the inactive UV. Almost immediately, the mission made a turn for the worst: the Captain's party is mysteriously killed along with the destruction of their shuttle, and the ISMV Cesca's systems go offline. Nonetheless, the Team went ahead with their assignment and retrieved the VIP, afterward, rescuing a surviving member of the Captain's team. Lieutenant Ibanez, by making a daring raid on the UV.
They were now informed of the events that had come to pass: As the initial report indicated, Celion had begun to be comsumed by a mysterious black substance, after which the realization came that the spreading would not cease, and orders were given to evacuate the planet. But the colonists were far from safety, and fled the planet to only be destroyed by the mysterious dreadnought in orbit. It took many vessels to damage it into inactivity, and the Raydes was the only one to survive.
Having this information, the team returned to the dormant Cesca, where it was learned that its inactivity was standard procedure to reduce the risk of detection. But now the Cesca was without an officer, and, after a brief scuffle in a vie for command between douchebags Vedra and Ivarrson, Junior Engineer Sethis (Stewart) stepped up and took command of the ship, and unwillingly had to keep it.
But suddenly, the UV became active, and an interstellar pursuit commenced, during which Ivarrson (Bradley) succesfully disabled the UV's weapons. Still in pursuit, the team made yet another daring raid to capture one of the strange creatures aboard the UV. Having been successful, they returned to the Cesca, where they plotted their next move. They soon learned that a mysterious shield prohibited outgoing communications and an exit from the system. The episode ended with two new UVs dropping out of slip-space to join the original UV in pursuit.
