Well nobody knows the name of my band... Anyway, when I make a band, it will stand for something. It will stand against corporate america and all its wrongdoings. It will stand against lying politicians. Wait a minute, that's two negatives. It will stand for women's rights! Gosh darn it, it will stand for puppies! Anyway, we will live in a nation where our luxuries are derived from the suffering of others! All the things we take for granted, we get by making others suffer. Its true, why else would the rest of the world HATE us? Seriously, we are not a popular nation. Alright, we are, but notoriously! The shoes you wear, the computers you use! You know it's like that saying, egypt was built on the backs of slaves. Something like that. Anyway, since I will make my band a band that supports issues, I was thinking I need a name that suits the purpose. Kinda like Rage Against the Machine. I think WITNESS would be a good name, as it would apply to us exploiting all of corporate america's wrongdoings! If only there was a sort of Capitalist Socialism. Then the world might be better but it's not. Seriously, we need to learn the Marx theory of Value. Something given is not worth anything! You must earn something in order for it to have value! Which is something america does not do! We just get given everything. At least some of us do. But anyway, name suggestions would be appreciated. I'm sure Patrick would support me. And give a good name idea as well, I am sure.

When you say we just get given everything, what do you mean? None of us here on the forums live in such a lap of luxury. While we aren't as misfortunate as the stereotypical Ethiopian boy who is the reason you finish your food, it's not like life here is heaven on earth.

It still doesn't mean we don't live off the suffering of others. In comparison, our poor are richer than other nations richest. And by given, I mean it's available in the U.S. as opposed to it not being available in other countries. Still through suffering though. LOL, I don't hate paragraphs. Why don't just leave it at Vampyre Pimp. And start picking on someone elses name tag thingy. Why's it always got to be me? C'mon Mr. Name Tag Fairy, whoever you are, choose someone else

And by given, I mean it's available in the U.S. as opposed to it not being available in other countries. Still through suffering though. Actually that isn't true. Really, wow. So not true. You got anything to back up that claim? And even so, what do you suggest? Giving the other needy countries aid? We do that, but the cold hard fact is that most poor countries are, pardon my wording, Fucked Up Beyond All Repair (FUBAR), and their governments are insanely corrupt. It's like trying to pour money into a delapidated building. You might as well just tear it down and start from scratch. But that isn't moral on a country scale (the analog would be Iraq). What should be done is that these countries be left to their own devices. Eventually they will have to form some sort of working government. If we keep supplying creaking regimes, that just prolongs their suffering.

Think about a building. It's got foundations. Deep in the earth. The most expensive most luxuriest offices are at the top maybe even a penthouse. The world is not limited to just our nation. The world is one WHOLE. Everything has to fall on everything else. The very poor of other countries are at the bottom, while we're at the top.

Ok. First of all. My point is to raise awareness, so that people may appreciate more what they have. I don't want to change anything, no one can change anything. Trying to do so would cripple the world's economies. You just have to accept it. Be thankful you actually have what you have. And I NEVER said anything about fixing anything.

LOL
Well, when people support issues, they usually just wait for when a problem comes around. Like women's issues. I just gotta wait for some inequality against women to come around for me to stand up and speak.

I don't think the size of a woman's breasts is important. Women, shouldn't be seen as physical objects. Don't twist that sentence around, you know what I mean. We're all people in this here world. Whatever natural size a woman's chest grows out to be, should be left alone by society, unless the woman willingly changes them herself. Then there's the whole sociological thing. Where women try to meet what society deems ideal in a woman. STUPID SOCIETY!

Providing solutions or explanations is what is actually important. Socrates? As the resident philosophy major, I will have to say no. First off, Socrates' written work has never been found. We know of Socrates as a character in Plato's dialogues. Anyhow, Plato did provide explanations which he called the "forms." You're thinking of Friedrich Nietzsche and nihilism.

Band name ideas:
The Yes Men - This would decribe your anti-globalization agenda as it is taken from a modern culture jamming group that protested the WTO. It would also exemplify the idea of using media (music) to criticize media (used by major corporations).
Weather Underground (or The Weathermen) - Taken from a radical left wing organization during the late-60's early-70's, this would express the anti-globalization, anti-war, and anti-racism ideals of the band. However, the violent wang-dangler ideals of the later-era of the WU could cause misrepresentations of the band's ideals.

Socrates is famous for asking questions, not answering them. It's part of the socratic method. Plato provided explanations, not Socrates.
