What happened:
The way I think it started was none too unusal. The RRF or someone targeted a mall to be "cleansed" of humans. But when they got there, they were strongly repulsed. They then reported this seige to other zombie hordes here and there to ask for assistance. Soon every organized horde joined. A few days later, it was the largest siege in Urban Dead, and went from October 27th to December 12. The Humans won the battle for the mall, and the united hordes retreated, broken from their first ever defeat. This was their first defeat and a resounding one.
The result is them feeling bitter (understandably so) about the fact of how weak zombies are, and that one human is much greater than a few zombies. It just isn't fun to play as a zombie unless you are in a horde, and now that hordes are no longer as invincible as they once were, the zombie side is falling apart.
