Well, as we have all previously discussed, putting together all of our urban dead journals into one single cohesive story seems like a good idea. So, since I was the one who started all the journals, I figured I should be the one to start collecting and overseeing this... I hope no one minds, but each and every project needs to start somewhere, and it needs to have a single vision.
First of all, we need a big picture, a single story arc from which we could all write and/or edit our journals to fit into. I have an idea which could work very well with the story; the whole damned city is a government experiment. The United States Army, in trying to "advance" biological warfare, has secretly released this "virus" into one of a foreign country's most populated areas. Of course, the virus starts to spread, and it is first seen as rioting, when it all gets out of control the city's own officials and the country's army can't really contain the epidemic. In a seemingly gesture of good will, the Army volunteers to send in paratroopers to help, when in reality, they are simply seeing how well-trained soldiers do against the zombies. This is also a test to see how well they can contain the spread of disease, which in the end result, we see that it can get really bad when they make the decision to bomb the place. Anyway, this is just a suggestion, but I think it fits well with what we have written so far, and what I'd like to write. This is plot, I believe, also leaves a lot of room for social commentary.
Second, one thing that I noticed is that everyone who has come to an end in the journals has somehow kept on writing after they met their fate. The way to fix this is simple, after everyone's last journal, there will be a short paragraph, or paragraphs, in italics, to symbolize their last thoughts rather than what they have written, or we can simply end in written cliffhangers. But not all of us should... the last person to have a journal in the story will have to be a survivor, and should be a witness of the end events. This should be an outside character, like a military officer or something. More on this to follow.
Third. We'll have to change the name of the City, and everything else, in order to avoid any sort of copyright infringement. We'll also have to make pretty lengthy, detailed accounts of our experiences. I'm think we could have around 5-7 entries per character, with a minimum of 5 pages for each entry. Obviously this will cover a number of days and just one. We also have to agree on what events to include in the big picture: ie. the giant mall battle, the "nolan incident", and etc...
This is all I can think of for now. Feel free to suggest things.
