300 was really what I was expecting, awesomeness.
However, I wouldn't say greatest ever but only because I'm one of those guys that would never give anything an A+ out of principle. The guys that played Xerxes freaked me out everytime he was on screen.

I know a couple of Persian people. When I go back to school next week, I'm going to tell them all how great I thought 300 was.

Spartan practices most likely not mentioned in the movie: - throwing infants with mental or physical disabilities off of mountain cliffs 300 proved ya wrong on that one.

I was annoyed that the Spartans called the Athenians "boy lovers."
Spartans engaged in pederasty far more than the Athenians. It was an essential part of their society.

Wasn't it the general Greek view that women were for reproduction, other men were for actual carnal pleasure?
EDIT: Anyway, seeing as how Hollywood has made two movies in the past where persians are defeated by greece, they should make an adaptation of Prince of Persia, just to even things out. And who should play the prince? Viggo Mortensen comes to mind.

I hear that the way it's narrated lends itself to a good storytelling type atmosphere. They could make one about the original Prince of Persia, but it would involve him getting killed alot...

Hey man, those idiots who ran to get themselves speared by the Spartans were taken out of the gene pool. Natural selection at it's finest. Actually, come to think of it, my ancestors had to survive: 1.) Alexander the Great 2.) The Arab Hordes 3.) The Mongol Hordes 4.) Tamerlane the Turk 5.) Russians in various iterations 6.) The British in various forms 7.) Considering it's in the middle of three continents, lots of other refuse as well. At the very least, it's in my blood to not charge a wall of spears.
