Iranians are getting pissed off by their portrayal in the movie.
Maybe someone should explain to them that it is based off of a graphic novel.

I think that fact is actually better told to the critics who feel that the movie is historically inaccurate.

You know what I think it represents? The battle of Thermopylae! Seems like a stretch but I think I'm on the right track.

I swear, those frikkin political people find a way to compare EVERYTHING to George Bush.
But what pisses me off even more are all the reviews calling the movie "homoerotic". I wanna just go up to them and go *SMACK!* Shut the HECK up!

Hear hear!
Yes, indeed. Critics just need to criticise something, whether it was the goal of the movie or not.

I wanna just go up to them and go *SMACK!* Shut the HECK up! Man, that post is totally like a homoerotic George Bush. See, the poor word usage is reflective of our president, and the overall "gay" feel of the post makes it seem homosexual. It's erotic to those that have a fetish for onomatopoeia.

So here's the plan, we got about seven months to do it, but if Christian Bale can do it, then so can we. The plan involves, so far, two people, Shane et Moi, but hopefully after hearing this awesome plan more people will join. It involves two things that will be accumulated simultaneously: muscle and money. Why? Because it would be awesome to be a Spartan for halloween. Altogether, the helmet, shield, and spartan sword go for about 500 bucks, give or take a few dollars. So if you'd like to create a little legion to go around and kick ass during halloween, then go ahead and say "we are with you to the death..." or um, "yeah, ok." We'll be waiting for you, and if you're not there, then you're all boy lovers and philosophers.
Oh yeah, I don't think they sell the capes or the spears, but those should not be too hard to make.

Even if I did have the build, I can't really say that I'm willing to shell out 500 dollars just to get a few compliments for one night.

500 to buy pre-made ones or 500 to craft them from scratch? I'd consider it, but I don't quite have the "look". 300 did give me the urge to work out in a gym though...

Heck, I'm already in the process of becoming Spartan-muscular! As for a 500 dollar costume, though....
I'd probably re-use it for anime expo, though, at least. I'd love to go around shouting spartan war-cries at yaoi fans and CLAMP-lovers. Anyway, I'll think about it.
