Eric's Trip is a Canadian alternative rock band and are perhaps the weakest band up there. They take their name from the Sonic Youth song.
Folk Implosion was a side project of Lou Barlow's at the time when Sebadoh was recording but grew into its own thing.
Mr. Show is a sketch comedy show that used to be on HBO. Reruns are now aired on Comedy Central... but rarely.
fIREHOSE is an alternative rock band that formed out of the remains of the Minutemen when the lead singer D. Boon died.

Mr. Show and Kids in the Hall are my favorite sketch comedy shows.
