Being one of those unique films that comes out once in a while, this year we luckily also had 300, I went out and got the DVD today. The case is such a rip-off! I swear, it's like they didn't even try, it didn't even come with a chapter slip! What the hell is up with this!? I don't know about you people, but my DVD watching experiences aren't complete without a well-designed DVD case.

Sometimes the movie will speak for itself with such volume that add-ons and fancy cases annoy me.
Silence of the Lambs and Apocalypse Now come to mind. I like how the copies I have don't make a big deal with fancy booklets and what not. While other times I want the stuff, like with Evil Dead II.
I guess it's just serious releases. Which is why CoM's case doesn't annoy me so much. I should buy that soon.

I'm pretty uppity when it comes to getting stuff with my dvd too. I just bought the Special Edition Escape From New York DVD, and I was not disappointed. Heck, it even came with a little comic book!
On another note, I still haven't seen Children of Men yet. After hearing all the broo-ha-ha about it, I feel bad for not seeing it in theatres.

I wish someone yelled "SAVE THE BEBEH!" at some point in that movie.

Was Escape from New York better than Escape from LA?

Was Escape from New York better than Escape from LA? HELL YES! Escape from LA was a joke. Also, it is apparently being remade, with Gerard Butler set to play the new snake plissken. Kurt Russel is outraged, he reportedly said something along the lines of "I MADE Snake Plissken," and "Last thing I remember, Snake was AMERICAN!"

My only experience with Snake Plissken was Escape from LA. I guess I should try Escape from New York sometime.

I haven't seen Escape from L.A. yet, and from what I hear, I should probably just skip it.
