We are all voting age (cept, well, some of you), so I can talk a smidgen about politics. Screw the stupid presidential crap, vote yes on proposition 71. Prop 71, in essence, promotes stem cell research. The rather near-sighted federal government has passed some negative legislation, but this act would help at least California get back on track. Link 1: www.ss.ca.gov/elections/elections_j.htm#2004GeneralLink 2 (PDF File): www.ss.ca.gov/elections/bp_nov04/prop_71_entire.pdfConsidering the HUGE amount of money we waste on stupid crap, the money being put toward stem cell research will have a definite positive effect. FYI, stem cells are unspecialized cells; i.e. you can develop them into skin, liver, brain, anything. The possibilities range from helping repair atrophied tissue in Alzheimer’s, or replacing cells after a tumor has been removed. In any case, good stuff. So yeah, yes on prop 71. I might as well put some oppositon links: washingtontimes.com/op-ed/20041003-113918-3964r.htmwww.godandscience.org/doctrine/stemcell.htmlThe cons of this is that it costs money, for something that hasn't shown any gain yet. However, that is why research is done. It's not like we inherently know everything and can say "Oh, yeah, we can do that, no problem", before actually working with it....

Stem Cell research is the only way that I can see to make giant mutant freaks, like in Teenage Mutant Ninjas II: Secret of the Ooze.
so I'm all for it.
