Since some of you may be curious.
06.18.07/08.31.07 - Medicine - Kuat will be living in the hospital. Literally. Also, Kuat finds the name of this roation strange: "Medicine"? So does that mean the others aren't medicine?
09.01.07/09.09.07 - Week off
09.10.07/10.19.07 - OB/GYN - Kuat hopes this should be a fairly light load. Gets to see the miracle of life. Will be playing the role of "guy to be punched/squeezed by delivering mother". Kuat looks forward to deep bruises, for they build character.
10.22.07/11.30.07 - Psych - Kuat thinks that crazy people are scary. Hopefully does not have to stay on site. Thanksgiving is best spent with psych patients though, right?
12.01.07/12.09.07 - Week off
12.10.07/02.01.08 - Surgery - Kuat will try not to f-up. Also, why does Christmas AND Kuat's birthday land on the hardest rotation? Easy, god hates Kuat.
02.04.08/02.15.08 - Neurosurgery - Kuat will have a very brown nose. Replaces geriatrics which Kuat will have to take sometime... later?
02.18.08/02.29.08 - Radiology - Kuat will hopefully not get cancer.
03.03.08/03.28.08 - Family Med - Kuat has no idea about this one. If Kuat gets the Chart Nazi, bad times.
03.29.08/04.06.08 - Week off
04.07.08/05.23.08 - Pediatrics - "Babies Manuel, BABIES!"
05.24.08/05.31.08 - Week off
06.01.08/06.18.09 - Year 4 - Kuat gets letters after his name. Totally worth it.
06.19.09/??.??.∞ - Who knows?
No holidays off, bugger. I'm thinking of making my folks fly up for thanksgiving. Psych and OB/GYN I hear are relatively light. Hopefully that is true, because they are in between the two hard rotations. However, I do get those weeks off, so it isn't all bad. Pediatrics I hear is really fun.
I have no idea of year four. It's the "random crap" year where lots of junk is stuffed in. Also the fun of flying all over the US for interviews is back again. Maybe I should get a new camera to prepare. I also will have a choice of doing an away rotation. They have international rotations, and the weeaboo in me really wants to take one of the ones in Japan... although I don't know how the xenophobic Japanese will react to some swarthy looking individual. Also, taking a patient history will be, you know, sorta hard. Considering the only words I know are not only limited but spoken in a high pitched and sarcastic manner, I can imagine the following exchange:
Pt: <Hey Doc, I've got this stinging pain in my...>
Me: ARIGATO GO DIMMMAAASSS!!!
Pt: <Err, you're welcome? Anyway, you see...>
Me: ITADAKI-MASU!!!!!!
Pt: <You... you're scaring me...>
Me: What did you say? You want to see some tentacle porn?
Truly I would be the Ambassador of Ambassadors. There are other choices, and the next best would be Germany or England. Considering my new found love of tea, and the fact that my British lecturers are always awesome, maybe I'll take that jump across the pond.
What I will most likely do is take my away rotation back home because I'm boring like that.
Anyway, time to finish this last final...
