Well, we all read very interesting diverse stuff. And needless to say, that interesting stuff interests the rest of us. So here we shall post about recommended books for the group. Along with a little summary to intrigue ye mind.
First up is one of me all time favorites:
The Martian Tales Trilogy
Though there are about 11 books in the series, the first three are the most famous and perhaps best of them: A Princess of Mars, Gods Of Mars, and Warlord Of Mars. You can find them in this really awesome paperback edition Barnes & Nobles sells for about 10 bucks.
The story follows John Carter, a Virginian Gentlemen who knows only two things: How to chew Tobacco and kick ass. And he's all out of tobacco. So he ends up on the planet of War itself, MARS! There he meets the hottest babe in all of literature: Dejah Thoris, proud princess of the red men of mars and held captive alongside Carter by the Green barbaric race of mars. Of course being the babe that she is, Dejah Thoris is wanted by all, and throughout the course of the trilogy you will follow John Carter as he attempts to get her back after she has found herself separated by him through many different means. Of course this is not the only thing the trilogy is about. It's got everything. A badass stand-by-your-side-no-matter-what alien pet? Check! A culture totally awesome and different from our own? Check! Hateful villains that you just love it when they get whats coming to them? Check! Awesome plot twists and cliff hangers? Check! Crazy religions that thrive on sacrifices? Check! A badass lead dude? Check! Babes? Check! Battles involving millions of soldiers on either side, and massive fleets of airships dotting the skies? Check! Pirates? Check! You get the picture. A must read. For all.
