Sounds like a good fable, eh? Now why would such a big hairy barbarian be talking with a fly? Perhaps the fly can see things that the giant cannot, and must communicate these things to him...

Very Lovecraftian. I can just imagine us "simple beings"(humans) being put into a huge arena by a gelatinous monolith entity and forced to fight to the death.
