So, I've been lazy recently.
Well, I'm always lazy, but this time it's a larger project with a deadline approaching and my superiors growing tired of my Californian approach to life.
Basically, last night I needed to do two weeks of work in one night.
Normally, I would oops I crapped my pants at this, but some kind souls, somewhere, have created goldy tools to help idiots in their time of need.
Here's a list of what saved my bacon:
Zotero. It delivers. If you ever have to do a scientific paper of any sort, zotero delivers GOLD
Just take a look:
AUTOMATIC CITATION GENERATION! DO YOU UNDERSTAND MOTHERF***ERS! YOU CLICK A LINK AND BOOM! AMA STANDARD!
What's that? A pansy ass humanities major? MLA is there too, so is Chicago, and 5,000 other styles. No typing, no nothing. IT SEEKS OUT AUTHOR, JOURNAL, TITLES AND DATES.
See the left with organized collections that you can sort and label with tags?
See the center with the different journals?
IT SAVES DUPLICATES OF THE PAGES THAT YOU CAN ANNOTATE, HIGHLIGHT, and probably sodomize if that's your deal.
Seriously, this shit is EPIC.
Next: Firefox showcase (not linked or pictured because I'm lazy).
Is it late at night? Do you have 50 tabs open, each with a vital article, image, or PDF that you desperately need to wade through and manage before the cock crows(I can hear you howling in agony already, MW)?
Showcase makes thumbnails (or more accurately, mini windows) of each tab that you can refresh, manage, and hell, put reminders on.
Finally: Imacros and speed dial.
Too tired to explain them, but GET THEM DAMN YOU. For your own good.
Especially Zotero.
That thing is amazing.
