Hey now, don't mock the robot's creative endeavor in making an "A" that mimics his own head. He's been working hard on that.

Illustration B project #2. We were to make a "sketchy" style cartoon with Illustrator's pencil tool based on an assigned newspaper headline.

I think out of all 5 projects, that one definitely turned out the best.

Illustration B Project #4. Photo manipulation project. The idea was to imitate Gustav Klimt's style with a photograph portrait, patterns, and Photoshop techniques. My least favorite project of the semester, both in process and result. Ah well.

And last but not least, Illustration B Project #5. Photoshop painting based on childhood toys. This is the reason I was asking around about what everyone's favorite toys were, idea hunting, heh. I think it's pretty clear what I ended up going with, a childhood favorite of mine. This was one of my favorite project concepts (finally got to digitally paint!), but unfortunately it was kind of crammed in at the end and we didn't get much time on it. As a result it was a little rushed and ended up a bit rougher than I might have liked, but I think it turned out okay given all things.

If the guys who did the commercial for Crossfire worked on a commercial for slot cars, it would probably look like that. I could never get into slot cars myself. I always got frustrated with ending up in the same place.

It's actually Hot Wheels, but close enough, I suppose.

Finally getting around to putting up my Life Painting work. I don't really consider myself that great of a traditional painter, but I'll post the highlights from throughout the semester over the next few days. Class: Homework: Project 1:

That profile picture reminds me of who I imagined Nero looking like.

Second wave. Class: Project 2: One of my least favorites of the semester. Limited palette and still uncomfortable with using color. Still, included since it technically counts as the second project. Homework: Model is Sara. Still struggling with color at this point, and the setting sun rushed me, but improvements are there.

Last wave. Project 4: Homework: Homework: I consider this my favorite of the semester, which came as a surprise because I'm usually not satisfied with self portraits. I'd say this is probably my best self portrait to date.
