Anyway, I've got a week off starting September 1st, in which Mura is coming up to see the sights of NY and such. Well, the more the merrier as some would say, so we want to know if anyone else wants to come. My studio can accommodate four people fairly comfortably, and transport in NY is fairly easy, so that takes care of travel and lodgings.
From experience (and me looking up flights), the cheapest round trip (without stops; stops may be cheaper but they are best to avoid) is ~$380. Subway fare and the like is $2 per direction, $4 for round trip, so $12 would be good for three days, and if you buy a $10 metro card you get $2 free on it, so yeah. Food is ~$10 for a good meal (certain places are ~$20, but you get two days worth of food. All in all $600 for the whole trip would be a good guesstimate (if you want to buy souvenirs and crap). Nothing more really.
You're all invited, and I can promise you it'd be interesting at the least. The earlier you make reservations, the cheaper the flights are, and it'd be nice to get a bearing on what to expect (like a month or so before). So, questions, comments, ideas and such, put 'em here.
Oh yeah, stuff I plan to show you guys:
Midtown, the hub of NYC. Epic architecture.
Central Park. It's... a really big park. With like castles in it.
The Metropolitan Museum - Best museum anywhere. They import whole rooms for christ sakes.
Bronx/Brooklyn Botanical - They've got plants from everywhere, period. Samples of plants long since extinct as well.
Wall Street - Home of THE MAN. Also has a sculpture of an anatomically correct bull, representing the bull market.
Coney Island - Waaaarrriiooooorrrssss...
Other crap! It's NYC for christ sakes! Maybe a comedy club, if they have decent crap playing (they are a fairly cheap).
