We need something to discuss music in you know? Hell, maybe even a movie or a book thread, but for now I'll start with this. And we'll start with everyone telling us what kind of music they like. What do you usually find yourself listenning to and for what reason? What artist would you recommend for listening?

By the way, MW, thanks for the Yes albums.
Yes music works pretty well with Escape Velocity Nova.

Incidentally, I'm fond of Close to the Edge and The Gates of Delirium.
I kinda switch back and forth when it comes to choosing the two.

Siberian Khatru has a pretty nice sound to it as well, in my opinion.

I found another excellent post-rock band.
Explosions In The Sky.
Much better than Mogwai.

I never listened to any Sigur Ros... icelanders... beady eyes.
I would say that they have a similar sound to GYBE, but with a traditional drum, bass, two guitar setup instead of GYBE's pseudo-orchestra.

An album recommendation for Kuat (or any other fans of TMBG):
I just recently bought They Might Be Giants' new album The Spine, and it is freaking great. Plenty of TMBG classic lyric-writing. Good stuff.

youtube.com/watch?v=HWburUQVAxwOne of the best blues songs, by one of the best blues bands, featuring some of the best blues musicians. Watch it and become a blues man! If you don't, i blame it on the sound quality and lack of bass that you can't hear, but the bass is still there though.

Well, patrick, i finally listened to mercury rev today, or at least half of it, since i couldn't really get through it all the way with out getting bored. While I was listenning to this, I was asking myself, "now why would patrick want me to listen to this?" And I guess its because of the guitar sounds. Yup, I shall say more when I finish.
