Apparently it was all a case of mis-translation. It makes sense. Mirages are not recordable, at least I think so. Furthermore, an event as natural as a mirage would not be able to form something as intricate and artificial as a city. That would suggest some kind of sentience to nature. That's not an idea I'm not open to, but it would support me stating that if something like this ever happened, it would either be a really elaborate hoax, or the real thing. Some actual glimpse into another dimension, human or natural-made. That would be trippy. There's actually a movie coming out about the topic called Another Earth.
EDIT: I looked up mirages and apparently they are recordable. I've concluded that if we view them as something recognizable, it's only because our minds are trying to make sense of the shape they are perceiving.

This picture is a good example. At first I thought that they did look like buildings, but then I realized that they could easily be identified as mesas or those other rock shapes in Colorado or where ever. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if humanity ever did witness a very detailed and intricate mirage, that could only be interpreted one way, it wouldn't be of natural occurrence. And the possibilities that that event would suggest are rather exciting.
