Okay, so I finally watched Endhiran, the Indian robot movie that clip is from.

The thing clocked in at 3 hours, and I watched it entirely without subtitles... And I swear to you, I've rarely been so awe-struck by a movie before. It was honestly friggin amazing from beginning to end.

I'm going to watch the Oscars this year just to laugh at all the inferior movies that everyone is making a big deal out of this year.

Indian movies fucking rule.

What's awesome is that I taught a class not too long ago how Bollywood films were coming up. Sure, the film is Tamil but I think Western film makers, at least the more creative writers, should take note. This scifi film goes from the scifi mundane to the scifi absurd. As unfathomably techno-immediate things like iPhones are becoming, the fiction side needs to transgress some familiar bounds.
